If you’re wanting support to heal from developmental trauma, you’re in the right place.
WELCOME!
Developmental trauma can show up in lots of ways. Maybe . . .
You feel like you have to constantly push yourself in order to feel worthy and you long for the freedom to stop trying so hard just to feel okay.
You’ve identified unhelpful patterns in your life that you want to change, but can’t. Yet.
You want a more compassionate relationship with your body, to more lovingly nourish, listen to, and relate to your embodied self.
No matter how you try, you can’t seem to make your outer life match your inner life. Your work, your relationships, your money – these key areas aren’t reflecting the capable person you know you are.
You long to express yourself more honestly without collapsing in fear.
Maybe you just feel stuck.
Whatever brought you here, you’re not alone. I’ve searched many times for the right person to help me on my path. Maybe I am that person for you.

NARM-informed Coaching Opens Space For . . .
Deeper Connection
More Accurate Self-understanding
Increased Nervous System Capacity
YOU CAN FEEL BETTER
I work within a powerful coaching process called the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM). My own engagement of this deeply respectful, client-led approach brought profound and lasting changes in my life.
And this is true of many others. Clients talk about being free from the thought patterns and behaviors they’ve had all their lives. They report a deeper sense of connection to themselves and greater capacity for connection with others. They point to a newfound courage, less constrained by fears that plagued them as children. And they marvel at how their rewired nervous system allows for greater openness while still keeping them safe.
NARM-informed coaching allows us to explore any area of life that is important to you. You set the agenda. We follow the path that is unfolding before you, trusting together in your ability to both envision the next steps for your life and hold the expanding aliveness that you’re experiencing.
The most effective process for allowing me to feel like I’m participating in my own life has been doing NARM.
“The spontaneous movement in all of us is toward connection, health, and aliveness, no matter how withdrawn and isolated we have become or how serious the trauma we have experienced. On the deepest level, just as a plant spontaneously moves toward sunlight, there is in each of us an impulse moving toward connection and healing.”
~ Dr. Laurence Heller, creator of NARM
“Sometimes I wake up and have to remind myself: ‘There is nothing wrong with me. I have patterns to unlearn, new behaviors to embody and wounds to heal. But there is nothing wrong with the core of me and who I am. I am unlearning generations of harm and remembering love. It takes time.’”
~ Yolo Akili
I am a certified NARM-informed professional who works in the areas of healing developmental trauma, navigating life transitions, increasing capacity for self-empowerment, and embracing authentic expression.
My work is not just about helping others identify issues or patterns, which is important, but also seeing alternative possibilities, making connection between past self-concepts and present behavior, and envisioning a more authentic future. In-depth NARM-informed coaching allows new understandings and capacities to emerge, leading to transformative shifts in our lives.

Elements of NARM-informed Coaching
-
Top-down/Bottom-up
NARM's top-down method focuses on thoughts and emotions. The bottom-up angle attends to the body and sensations in the present moment, helping us notice cycles of connection/disconnection within ourselves.
-
Strengths as Well as Symptoms
NARM-informed coaching builds on the strengths and resources you’ve developed for yourself. This emotionally safe process supports you in exploring what’s getting in the way of your feeling better.
-
Reframing the Past
From the NARM perspective, there's nothing wrong with you. But there may have been an environmental failure in your early years which you endured by developing strategies for survival. You can update these strategies so the past isn’t pulling so hard on your present.
-
Working with the Life Force
The science of the organism shows there's a force beyond the merely mechanical elements of existence. The life force that created the universe is also in also in us and between us, helping us heal and grow.

My Approach to Coaching
I a psychodynamic coach, mindful of the effects of early attachment relationships, the dynamics within the coach/client relationship, and the power of deep self-reflection to lead to personal insight.
I am an existentially oriented coach, passionate about the ideas, principles, and philosophy that underpin the coaching process. My approach is centered on helping people explore their unique path and make authentic choices that reflect their true self.
I believe in the evolutionary genius of childhood survival strategies to keep us alive as infants and children. And I believe in the power of connection to help us heal and grow beyond our childhood woundings as fully capable adults.
I am phenomenologically oriented, meaning that I focus on the present, believing that our greatest power comes as we live with increased awareness of what our bodies, minds, and emotions are conveying here and now.
I wholeheartedly believe you've got everything you need for the life you're seeking—it's all there within you, even if buried under years of struggle and survival. A more organized inner world can emerge as we engage in healing our early trauma. For those of us who also want to contribute to healing our cities and our planet, this is very good news.
